Volgens mijn broer is het een cosworth motor van de scorpio, recent gehoord op een reportage van MotorsTV.
Dit staat op de site van de wagen:

The front end underwent minor changes later that year and the continued problems with cam belt failures led to the implantation of a 2.5 litre, 24 valve, V6 Cosworth engine originally from an Opel German Touring Car in 2000 which made THAT absolutely awesome sound that the car has become famous for.
Further development lead to the replacement of the 306 Maxi roof spoiler with a Peugeot WRC style rear wing in 2003 for improved handling and stability at speed. The Cosworth Touring Car engine proved to be unreliable leading to a major fire during the Swansea Bay Rally in 2005. After persevering with the engine for another season in 2006, it was replaced with the current 2.9 litre, 24 valve, Cosworth V6 production based engine. This engine was developed during the 2007 season and still makes a fantastic, instantly recognisable sound, as well as keeping the car competitive.

Als 't nen 2.9 liter is kan 't bijna nie anders dan een Scorpio (gebaseerd) blok zijn.
